President - Amy Gooley
“I am married to Seth, and together we have two wonderful children, Hazel who is 7 years old, and Jason who is 3 years old. We reside in Midland, the place where I was born and raised, and now where I am raising my own family. Our oldest, Hazel, attended Chippewa Co-op, and Jason attended last year and will be attending again this year. In my free time, I love to stay active outdoors enjoying golfing, getting out on the water, having fun with the kids, and during the winter, skiing. I have had the privilege of being part of the board since last year, initially serving as the Vice President. I am thrilled and honored to step into this school year as Board President. Chippewa has played a significant role in our family’s life by providing the safest and most loving environment for our little ones to grow and learn. We are immensely grateful for this wonderful community!”
Vice President - Janel Szeszulski
“Hello, I am Janel Szeszulski! I am a part-time surgical technologist, and reside in Midland with my husband Chris and our 3 children. This is my first year serving on the Chippewa Board. However, my journey with Chippewa really began in 1991 when I started preschool here. Chippewa is such a special place, I love being able to be so involved in my children’s education, and the staff here truly makes you feel like family. Our oldest, Colton (6) spend the last two years here and our twins Katie (3) and Cullen (3) are beyond excited to start their own Chippewa adventure this fall.”
Executive Board / Treasurer - Ty Mier
“I am married to Kim, and together we have three amazing children who have wandered the halls and playground at Chippewa Preschool. Isabelle, who is 16 years old, Austin, 13, and Aiden, 11. We live in Midland, and are both originally from the area, Bay City and Kawkawlin. We can usually be found at a sports field of some kind as the kids participate in Volleyball, Softball, Soccer, Cross Country, Basketball, Swimming and Golf. I have been in my current role on the board since 2012 and continue to serve because of the kids, families, board members, and the impact on the community that Chippewa Preschool provides. I have spent the last 14 years of my career as the Controller at Garber Management Group, currently working with over 2400 teammates across the US.
Fun Fact- all 3 of our children were able to lead the Chippewa Circus as the Ring Master!”
Membership Coordinator - Erin Chebby
“Hello, I’m Erin Chebby and I have served as the Membership Coordinator here at Chippewa Preschool for the past few years. I am a Midland native but spent about ten years living New York where I earned my bachelor’s degree in ASL to English Interpretation from Rochester Institute of Technology. I worked as a Sign Language Interpreter for many years before returning to Midland in 2017. I live here with my husband, our three kids, all of whom have gone to Chippewa, and our dog Indy. We have really enjoyed our years at Chippewa. Some special memories being the Thanksgiving program, Graduation ceremonies, Beach Day and of course the Circus!”
Fundraising Coordinator - Jill Lauderman
“Hi! I’m Jill Lauderman, and I’m excited to be serving as the Fundraising Coordinator on the Chippewa Preschool Board. I’ve been part of the Chippewa community since 2023, when my daughter Maddie started here. Now, my younger daughter Emery will be in the 3-day class! My husband Josh and I have called Midland home since 2023, where we’ve been raising our two energetic girls- Madelyn (6) and Emery (4). This summer was full of adventure, including a memorable trip to Italy (we definitely ate our weight in pasta!) and lots of exploring around our beautiful state of Michigan. We also welcomed a new, fluffy family member- a mini Bernedoodle named Eddie- who’s added even more fun to our busy household! I’m looking forward to a great year of supporting our amazing school and planning some fantastic fundraisers!”
Fundraising Coordinator - Jade Giering
“Hi, I am Jade Giering! This is my third year serving on the board alongside Emily as the fundraising coordinators. My husband Rob and I have two daughters, Emilia (6), who attended Chippewa for the last two years and Ellie (3.5), who is returning to Chippewa in the fall. Our family couldn't imagine sending our children anywhere else for preschool! There are so many things we love about the school, but the opportunity to co-op in the classroom is probably my favorite aspect. Mrs. Savage and Mrs. Rohr are truly one-of-a-kind women... They are exactly the people who you want to be educating, caring for, and role-modeling for your children. Being involved with Chippewa feels very full circle to me, as my brother and I both attended the school 27 years ago!”
Building Coordinator - Scott Sweeny
“I was born and raised in Coleman, Michigan where I met my wife, Jessica. We have two beautiful daughters, Olivia and Mackenzie (Max), both of whom love Chippewa Preschool and everyone in the Chippewa family. I spent 20 years in commercial construction, but I now split my time raising the girls and doing residential concrete projects. My wife and I enjoy hiking and traveling and have seen some beautiful places all over the world!”
General Coordinator - Lindsay Wilcox
“My name is Lindsay Wilcox and I am the General Coordinator for the preschool. I have been with the school in some capacity since 2018, when my eldest daughter first started here. In 2022, I also had the privilege to join the amazing teaching staff as a substitute paraprofessional. My husband, Adam, and I have watched all 4 of our children learn and grow here with the Chippewa family!”
Event Coordinator - Jenny Flint
“Hello, my name is Jenny Flint. I am serving this year as the event coordinator. This will be our first year at Chippewa. I love being a stay-at-home mom with my kids! I enjoy cooking, baking, creating, gardening, playing games, exploring, exercising, and spending time connecting with my family! Finn is our youngest (4) and we are excited to watch him grow this year at Chippewa Preschool!”
Publicity and Health Records - Rebecca Kirkpatrick
“Hi, I’m Rebecca Kirkpatrick. My husband Eric and I live in Midland with our four children, our dog Walter, and our three cats. I am a critical care nurse at a local hospital and I teach clinical nursing at SVSU. All of our children have loved Chippewa and we have loved watching them thrive in this environment. Our oldest son started here in 2007, and now our youngest daughter Sophie will be starting this year. We love this school and our Chippewa family.”
Secretary - Jenny Roten
“Hi, I’m Jenny Roten. I’ve lived in Midland since elementary school and now enjoy raising my daughter, Eleanor, here with my husband, Vaughn. Eleanor attended Chippewa last year and will be in the 3-day class this year. This is my first year serving on the board as secretary, and I’m excited to be more involved in our school community. I love that Chippewa gives me the opportunity to play an active role in Eleanor’s education, and I’m looking forward to a wonderful year ahead.”
Tuition Coordinator - Jennifer Downey
“My name is Jen, and I’m thrilled to be joining Chippewa Cooperative as your new Tuition Coordinator. My daughter, Kora, is starting her second year at the Cooperative, and our family has loved being part of this wonderful community. Fun fact—my husband, Ethan, also attended the preschool back in 1999! I stay home with my girls—Kora, 4, and baby Maya, 10 months old—while also cleaning part-time. Ethan and I were both born and raised in Midland, and family is such an important part of our lives.
I love spending time outdoors, whether it’s hiking, snowboarding, or traveling to new places, and I’m always looking for little adventures with my girls. I’m really looking forward to getting to know all of you, connecting with other parents, and helping build a supportive, welcoming, and fun community at Chippewa Cooperative!”
