Meet our staff!

Katie Ward - Lead Teacher and Director

Katie has a lifelong connection to Chippewa Cooperative Preschool. As a child, she attended Chippewa herself and found her way back in 2020 when her oldest child began preschool. After serving as a board member for many years and paraprofessional last year, she is excited to step into the role of Lead Teacher and Director.

She holds an Elementary Education degree with a Child Development ZA Endorsement and is passionate about fostering a nurturing, engaging learning environment for young children in the community. Outside of school, Katie, her husband Nate, and four children live on a lavender farm in Coleman, MI. They have a variety of animals, including chickens, cats, rabbits, ducks, a dog, and a goose. She enjoys gardening, crafting, and reading in her free time.

Chippewa Cooperative Preschool has always held a special place in her heart, and she considers it an extension of her family.
